Temperature Testing Optic Fiber Transceivers

We believe we have the thermal test technology, products and application support to enable thermal test profiling in the fiber optic for datacenter market segment. The Ethernet market has seen incredible growth in the past few years. Changes to transmission speeds and expansions in data center capabilities are helping fuel this trend. MPI heavy visitor traffic and meetings with these manufacturing companies in our booth at this year’s OFC, shows continuing strong demand in thermal profile testing 40G / 100G Ethernet parts that is being driven by cloud services and databank services.

ThermalAir TA-5000 Systems

ThermalAir Temperature Test Systems are used for fiber optic manufacturing final test applications in engineering development and production at temperature ranges from -40°C to +90°C to thermal test and temperature calibrate these devices at precise temperatures.

ThermalAir TA-5000 temperature inducing equipment provides a controlled temperature of
hot and cold air directly on the fiber optic component under test with temperatures ranging
from -90°C to +225°C with an accuracy of +/- 1.0C for fiber optic components.

Testing Fiber Optic Components

MPI Thermal is a leading provider of temperature test systems for fiber-optic 40G / 100G transceivers in engineering and production of these optical transceivers parts. These fiber optic devices access network products for the Internet datacenter, cable broadband and fiber-to-the-home markets. The MPI TA-5000A ThermalAir temperature system is used for 40G & 100G thermal profile and test optical transceiver devices for datacenter applications. As optical transceivers devices continues to ramp in datacenters, MPI Thermal and our temperature test equipment is well positioned to benefit all optical fiber products manufacturers as 100G continues to ramp for cloud databank storage worldwide.

Standard environmental test chambers cannot meet the narrow temperature accuracy margins.

ThermalAir systems produce a hot and cold stream of air directed on the device under test with very precise thermal control, providing a temperature range from -90°C to +225°C with an accuracy of +/- 1.0°C for fiber optic components.

MPI ThermalAir temperature forcing systems provide a direct thermal stream of clean dry hot and cold air directly to the part that needs to be thermal tested. Environmental stress screening, temperature conditioning, thermal shock and other temperature test requirements is what the ThermalAir temperature systems bring to the test.

  • Failure Analysis
  • Environmental Stress Testing
  • Thermal Shock
  • Rapid Thermal Cycling
  • And More Advance specification requirements

MPI Thermal thermal inducing equipment is portable and can easily be moved from one test station to another. Automotive Component manufacturers can use our ThermalAir TA-5000 system to quickly bring their parts to temperature right at the test location. Temperature cycling, thermal profiling and other environmental temperature conditioning is why MPI Thermal systems are part of the manufacturing temperature test process.

This is why the MPI Thermal TA-5000 Series of ThermalAir temperature products are part of the test.
